Tony's Tavern Finishes 2nd 2015 Mardi Gras Lacrosse Tourney
Feb. 9,  2015

Tony's Tavern returned to New Orleans, LA for the 2015 Mardi Gras lacrosse Tournament.

The team made the road trip over from Houston with some of our Mardi Gras usual suspects joining us from around the country for some fun times with a great crew and some sweet lax on the field.

Tony's had an opened up the tourney with a 12-1 win over Tulane on Friday.  Saturday brought match-ups with the Pensacola riptide and against hosting New Orleans lacrosse club.  The team would rally for a 7-2 win over Pensacola and an afternoon victory 16-4 over New Orleans.  The stage was set for a repeat of the 2013 finals vs. the NYC based Salt Shakerz.

Tony's Tavern came out slow, but made an effort to fight back, but in the end fell to the Salt Shakerz 7-4.  The team enjoyed a great weekend of partying, parades, food and lacrosse.  Thanks to New Orleans lax club for hosting and we look forward to returning in 2016.  We will look to get back after it on the field in Houston for Spring season.

Jan. 4,  2014

Tony's Tavern teamed up with Houston Veterans in Energy to take part in the charity lacrosse tournament 7s For 7 that raises donations benefiting Depression and Bipolar Support Alliance of Greater Houston.  The tourney is hosted annually by the friends of Drew Webb.  The tournament routinely is a mix of talented players from the region and across the country. It was a great day of lacrosse for a great cause.  The Houston Veterans/Tony's team finished 2-1 and look forward to returning in the future to raise donations for the 7sfor7 as well as the Houston Veterans in Energy.

We were proud to have active and retired military personnel on the team representing Army, Marines and Air Force.
