Matt Ippolito returns
to Tony’s Tavern in 2009 after a late start in the 2008 season.
Matt joined Tony’s Tavern after playing college ball at the
Yale. Ippolito helps solidify a talented midfield unit with his
great defense, clearing ability and slick dodging. Ippolito
brings his great knowledge of the game and honors such as
All-Long Island to the team. He is also willing to share his
knowledge and helps spread the game by being an assistant coach
on the Lamar HS women’s team. Matt has stepped up in many tough
games in the past 2 seasons for the team. During his debut game
vs. Metro he had 3 goals to help Tony’s to a win. Ippolito’s
skills as a lacrosse player boost the talent on the midfield and
increase the case that Tony’s has its’ most talented unit in the
history of the team. His smarts on offense and quickness on
defense make Matt an important part of the team in 2009. Having
Ippolito on the team will ensure that Tony’s Tavern gets on top
of all the loose balls and has a dominant transition offense;
which are keys to many more victories. Matt Ippolito’s fans
say his likeness to Josh Groban is remarkable…haha.
